A beautiful waterfall! One of our favorite places we visited in Costa Rica! My daughter was not very thrilled with the hike to the waterfalls from the parking lot. It’s a couple of miles each way and I would rate it as an easy/moderate trail depending on how in shape you are. You quickly forget about the hike once at the waterfall and swimming in the pool. We also had a great time jumping off the rocks into the water. It was very refreshing! I would suggest going early so you have plenty of time to spend at the pool. We didn’t realize how early things close so we only had about 45 minutes once we reached the waterfall. It was very much worth it but it definitely would have been better to have more time. As a bonus, we met a friendly kitty and some monkeys during our hike back to the parking lot. The hike back isn’t nearly as bad because A). you’re refreshed after spending time in the water, and B). we were basically talking about how great the waterfall was on the way back and not really paying attention to the hike itself. Spend the money to ride if you don’t feel like physical activity but I would suggest the hike if you’re active and want to save yourself some money for something else. One other thing, I bought a couple of waterproof covers for our iPhones before our trip. Only $5 or $6 at Walmart and they came in handy as we were able to film ourselves jumping off the rocks into the pool. Another great (possibly cheap) activity to do if you’re in the area. Even if you decide to ride the truck up to the falls for another 30+ per person, it’s worth the money if you’re planning to make a day out of it. I highly recommend the pizza place in Uvita for some dinner after your visit to the falls. Delicious pizza (according to my daughter) and I can vouch that they have delicious calzones.

Stunning Fantastic waterfalls. We've been to 1/2 a dozen in SW Costa Rica and these are the nicest. Long walk but definitely worth it. Easy uphill walking on a great trail. Don't try it on 90 degree days with 90 % humidity. I think you can take horse rides. Water was incredible after the hike. Lots of room for everyone.

Awesome place The Waterfall is awesome place, very nice experience, by 4x4 economic tour, the driver was nice and funny, nice moment !
However, very bad experience at the entrance with the young receptionist, she was absolutely not welcoming and pleasant. Luckily this colleague arrived to take care of us!

MUST DO STUNNING FALLS. A generally easy hike to get to them, although we saw some cars driving people if needed. This was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Costa Rica. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Beautiful to look at and so refreshing to jump into! Bring a swimsuit and a snack and plan on spending several hours here. We could've spent even longer, but wanted to spend part of the day at the beach. This is a must do!!!

Fabulous Horse ride to the Water Falls The best trip, whether you can ride or not. The horses are very well cared for and extremely well behaved, we were about 15 people and mostly inexperienced. The ride was great!
At the waterfall there are toilets and changing rooms.
The falls and pools are stunning! An hour or so for swimming then back on the horse. The meal on the way back was delicious!
Our guides, Denis and Erik were excellent, great fun and very experienced. Thank you! They put ropes up on the rocks so you can climb high and jump into the pools. Brilliant (to watch!!)
Overall an excellent trip. Don’t miss it!

Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park is the best! There are two different sides of the waterfall so make sure you go to Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park side for the best experience in every way. Having been to both sides, there is simply no comparison. The facilities, the immaculate trails through virgin forest, the views, and the amazing treatment by the staff make all the difference. Loved it!

Nature Park entrance much quieter The waterfalls were stunning, despite going in the dry season there was plenty of water. I would recommend Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park entrance rather than the normal entrance, this allows access from the other side of the waterfalls and the pool for the higher falls as well. It was also incredibly busy on the other side where as we had hardly anyone making for a much more enjoyable experience. You will need to drive an extra 15Km to get to this private entrance but it was well worth it for us. Use Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park in Waze.

Great falls for swimming We went here for the day on a Saturday so expected it to be busy. Parking at the kiosk there is a 3km walk all downhill to the trails that follow the upper and lower falls. Trainers will be fine for this route but not flip flops. We paid for the tractor trailer back as it is very steep and boring on the way back. TIP - if you are feeling brave you can go back in the bucket of the tractor.
The falls are spectacular and the lower falls has a large basin that can swim in. There are no changing areas by the falls - but there is a drop off point at the tailhead with toilets and changing rooms nearby.
As it was a Saturday it was busy with lots of locals and tourists. Nowhere to leave your stuff while you swim but it felt quite safe to leave our rucksack and clothes under a rock.
