Detailed visitor’s guide

Our guests often have questions about our park, such as facilities and recommendations for the best experience. Below, we provide a detailed guide on what you need to know before your visit: routes, vehicle types, prices, options, and necessary equipment to make your visit enjoyable.

How to Get Here?

To reach our facilities, you can take different routes, which you can find using various navigation apps like Waze or Google Maps. Remember that Nauyaca has two accesses, but there is only one Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park.

From Quepos:

Travel south on highway #34 or Costanera for about 43 kilometers until you reach Dominical, where you need to turn left onto route #243 towards Tinamastes. Continue for about 18 kilometers; along the way, you will see our signs guiding you to our office. First, you will pass the other access to Nauyaca, but you must continue 8 kilometers further. When you reach the town of Tinamastes, you will see a large church, and a few meters ahead, you will see a large sign indicating you need to turn right. Continue for about 12 minutes on an unpaved road, and you will arrive at our office.

From Uvita:

You can take three different routes:

More Adventure (4×4)
If you want more adventure and have a good 4×4, this route is ideal for you. Start by driving north on route #34 or Costanera for about 10 kilometers, then turn right onto the road leading to Escaleras. Take the concrete road for a few minutes, and at the next intersection, turn left. Continue on this route, where you’ll have an incredible view of the mountains. Then, you will descend until you reach a small hammock bridge, which you can cross without any problem. Turn left again and start the uphill road for a few minutes. Once you complete the climb, you will see a soccer field on your right. Continue 200 meters more, and you will arrive at our office.

Normal, but you still need a 4×4
For this route, you need a 4×4. Leaving Uvita, start heading north on route #34 or Costanera for about 4 kilometers, then turn right onto the road to San Josecito. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you see a place called Café Don Emilio. Turn left there and continue on the road without taking any detours for about 9.5 kilometers. At the next intersection, turn left and continue for 500 meters more to reach our office.

No 4×4 needed
This is a very simple route where you don’t need a 4×4 since it is mostly paved. Start by leaving Uvita heading north on highway #34 or Costanera for about 19.5 kilometers towards Dominical. After crossing the bridge, turn right onto route #243, which leads to Tinamastes. Along the way, you will pass another company, but remember that we are Nauyaca Waterfall Nature Park. Continue 8 kilometers further until you reach the town of Tinamastes, where you will see a large church. Continue a few meters more, and you will see a large sign indicating you need to turn right. Continue for 12 more minutes without taking any detours on an unpaved road to reach our office.

From San Isidro:

Start heading south on route #243 and continue for 16.5 kilometers without taking any detours until you reach Tinamastes. There, you will see a large sign indicating you need to turn left. Take the unpaved road that leads to San Salvador. Along the way, you will see our signage indicating the route. After 7 kilometers, you will reach our office.
